Let me start out by saying that this was an easy list item to knock off my Epic Quest List. The only way to get some momentum with my list was to have a few pieces of low hanging fruit or in this case low hanging juicy burgers.
So what is burger week and whats the definition of killing it during burger week? Every year during mid-August 50 of Portland’s most beloved restaurants, bars and brew houses create a one-of-a-kind burger that exists only during burger week. Each of these burgers has to use some ingredients the restaurant or bar would not normally use and each one can only be priced at $5.
Since I found out about burger week it has always been my goal to eat as many of these burgers as humanly possible. Last year I managed to squeeze at 11 so my goal this year was to do more than that.
This year with a lot of effort I squeezed 15 of these juicy burgers in my tummy within 6 days. That is 2.5 burgers a day, unfortunately, I had to skip a full day of burger eating but I think I successfully killed burger week eating 30% of the burgers on the list.
So here are my favorite burgers
My number one burger
Can’t Banh Mi Love
Location: Alberta Street Pub
This burger had everything, spice, cilantro, spice and a hefty bun! I am a huge fan of fusion foods, so putting Vietnamese staples on a burger is a win for me. This was an amazing burger that almost had me back in line for a second.
My number two burger
The Hellfire Burger
Location: Lucky Devil Lounge
This is the first and only burger the was served at a strip club which made me pretty skeptical about the quality. I ate this burger with some friends in Lucky Devils dimly back area next to a group playing poker, being the only ones who ordered food I was pretty nervous but this burger was AMAZING. This was hands down one of the spiciest burgers I have ever eaten and had me sweating the entire time.

Spicy Peanut Butter Bacon Bomb
Location: Triple Nickel Pub
Look at that burger! Look at that name! How did this burger end up on my shit list?! It should have been amazing but Tripple Nickel shit out some really low-quality buns mass produced some weak peanut butter coleslaw and I’m pretty sure my burger had no bacon on it. It’s burger week though and this kind of thing happens, while I was there they probably served 50 of these things.
